I Guess It Finally Became an Anime

What cuties. I would like to have a cutesy lil romance in my real life-- not in that way that the cast of Stranger Things is being fetishized, but just a little adorableness in my life would make this living hell a little more enjoyable.

They're so adorable. Nishikata is constantly harassed by his schoolmate Takagi and it bothers him, yet he still tries to prank her back. It's a classic "I-like-you-but-I-don't-know-how-to-express-myself-in-my-prepubescent-body-so-I'm-going-to-show-my-affection-by-relentlessly-bullying-you" type of story.

But it's not a violent, unreasonable bullying. It's light, it's cute, and it's most definitely their way of flirting with each other despite being in middle school and not really knowing what liking someone entails (which, bless Yamamoto Souichiro for not making this some sort of creepy, traumatizing lolita story , and keeping it PG and lovely )

Perfect for my wizened ole heart. Really quite nice. It's procedural and all they ever do is play jokes on each other and dance around the idea of "liking" someone and it's just so innocent and cute, it makes me feel so bubbly and warm on the inside. Favorite chapter BY FAR was CH 31: Memories. It's a massive spoiler but it's adorable and I'm kinda okay with how it was done. It was obviously set up, but really I didn't come here for James fucking Joyce I came here to be entertained, and entertained I am.

Takagi is the mature one by a long shot, and her precociousness paired with Nishikata's obliviousness is comedy. There were times I was trying to out-think Takagi and her mischievous pranks as Nishikata tried to figure her out, only to realize that yes, yes Takagi knows Nishikata THAT well that she always knows what he's going to do or say or plan. They're perfect.

She's actually pretty straightforward and (**uhh kinda spoiler? If you didn't get that already) she says that she likes him, but he doesn't think she's serious, despite him blushing red and becoming frazzled as all hell. Hmmm maybe you like her back HMMMM
