Comic Con photos! Honestly, there were so many amazing, cool art and comic book things there, but I realized I have an affinity for anime and Japanese shops. By only having taken photos of anime and Japanese booths during my entire time at SDCC. Oops lol.
Don’t get me wrong, the comic book stuff was amaaazing and the art shops populating every other booth showcased designs and color theory that I can only hope to aspire to be.
There was Disney and Studio Ghibli shaking hands at corners of the exhibition hall. A wall of popular toys and Squishmallows lined the back of the hall and you had as much a chance of shaking hands with a Trekkie as with a Firefly, Star Wars, Tekken, Stargate, or Bowser enthusiast.
Except for me. As crowded as it was, I didn’t like touching people 👍
There was so much going on, panels stacked on panels and so many booths vying for your attention that I think I went more on autopilot and just basked in the nerdy musk and excitement.
There wasn’t enough time, but I’m happy with how it was spent :)
Here’s some random shots from the Con and I hope you understand what I mean by liking comic books— but never realizing how obsessed I am with anime until looking back at what I chose to burn into my phone’s memory.
My brother and I went on a fucking JOURNEY trying to find these bitches in their glass boxes and they were in the most conspicuous spot imaginable. 3/10 we’re big time idiots.
This is me sneakily trying to take a photo of the hall, which is impressive in itself, packed with people like sardines in a can. It was awesome. The vibes. The vibes were great.
You’d think I’d be better at taking photos on my phone seeing as I’ve been a professional photographer for a few years but no salami. I’m just as shit as anybody else when I get excited and sausage fingery.
I’m pretty sure this was hentai. Like, I didn’t stop to find out, but I’m like 99% sure if I did stop, I would feel like a sinner sweating in church. There’s some things you just don’t do in public, and stopping for hentai is one of them.
A couple of happy anime boys and girls to cleanse your TL. Enjoy~
I may have bought some of these lovely boys to adorn my desk and watch me struggle whenever I write. (I’m talking about the figurines, not the men managing the counter, you heathens). Also the prices definitely gouged my wallet but HAHAHA I can hug a plushy and cry into it and that’s all that matters.
I was looking for a body pillow on request of a friend. I did not find it, but my faith in the depravity of humanity was restored upon my searching for it.
This Shumi store was honestly my favorite thing to throw money at. The stickers were beautiful. The air fresheners were FRESH and I got a free bag. Automatic besties.
There were quite a few stalls just selling books: manga or comics or occult books and I really liked that. It fits so well for some reason and I’m here for it. Also the guy at this stall was trying to get me and my brother to work for him because we looked BURLY which I thought was pretty funny.
My secret spot to people watch in the convention center hehehe. The amazing cosplays you can appreciate from here, the breather from the throng of people, the awkward smell of pizza wafting over from the shop 20 feet away. A good spot.
