These Thoughts on Plots are the ones I had the most fun watching and writing and I’ll just leave them here. Just for a bit. Some of the appeal was the research that went into writing the newsletter, some of it was just the experience of watching it, and sometimes it was just the discourse that came from having written and shared it with you all!
These made me really proud to have sat down each week to write something :)

In no particular order:
I went through a little rabbit hole of research when I was looking this newsletter up. I just wanted to use the “Gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss” catchphrase because it was funny to me, but there’s a whole semantics lesson and fake feminism deeply rooted in its conception that had me WILDIN’. Ted Lasso is one of the funniest things I watched with my sister this year. I absolutely loved every second of the first season, and reading Dale Carnegie’s book on “Winning Friends…” made me realize how much of Ted’s character is a derivative of those lessons. Everything he says or does is something Carnegie mentions as using to get closer to people to, ultimately, get what you want. I watched this movie in theatres twice. I bought the movie when it popped out on DVD. Every theme, genre, scene it shared on that silver screen made me so excited to continue writing and creating films just like that. I really like this show (the first 3 seasons of it) and I think it is superbly written with jokes falling off each character like sugar drippings on Halloween. The discourse that this specific newsletter caused had me thinking and wanting to know more about comedy and the improv scene. This anime made me really sad. The depth it dove into around grief and the music it made from that, all while being a BL and a 1-season-wonder made me want to relive it as much as possible. And I thought, hey maybe I could share this with people so they can feel pain too? This movie was a lot of fun to watch with my brother, he saw it in theatres with me even though he had already watched it with friends. Batman as a moody little bitch and a detective with no social skills is a Batman I can get behind.
See you soon buddy :) and thank you all for a great year~
