I feel you girl, my TBR pile is nothing short of mountainous haha but this is such a short, quick piece and it really made me think about how I'm living life and suddenly I understand the appeal of self-help books xD
And you have an excellent point! I'll have to whip up some of my favorite bookstores, but it's sadly mostly in San Diego. There are some amazing cafe and bookstores here, but not much of an opinion across the rest of the US of A. Are there any bookshops that strike your fancy?
First one that pops to mind is the Strand in NY - and Forbidden Planet a few doors down for all the manga/graphic novels and wonderfully geeky stuff. I also love Books of Wonder a few blocks of over. And McNally Jackson too! Others are bookstores that I don't know if they still exist anymore like Bluestockings in lower Manhattan. I like Greenlight Books and Books are Magic in Brooklyn. In MA I love Herridge used bookstore. I love the Tsutaya bookstore at the Daikanyama T-Site in Tokyo though I do most of my English language book shopping at Kinokuniya books - also in Tokyo - but both have locations throughout Japan and parts of Asia (I think). San Diego is supposed to have the most beautiful weather in the US - I wanna visit there one day! Now that i think about it. there are tons! A directory would be fun :)
I’ve been to the Strand with a few friends a handful of years ago! I can’t remember much, but I know that I loved it and I wish I could’ve spent more time there! Once I visit the east coast again, I’m going to go to all of these bookshops and drink my weight in coffee 😎
San Diego is wonderful. The traffic isn’t mind-numbing and the weather demands to be enjoyed outside or on a beach XD
